Eugenia Brugane

Eurgenia Brugane  (born Kopteva; 1903, Lomza, Congress Poland, Russian Empire – 1985, Riga, Latvian SSR) – the famous Latvian harp player and teacher.

E. Brugane graduated from Moscow Conservatory - harp playing.  After marriage (in 1920) she moved to Latvia and the creative biography of E.Brugane is closely connected with Riga. Her first place of work was Riga Art Theatre (Dailes) under the guidance of an outstanding Latvian producer E.Smilgis. She was in churge of the musical part of the theatre. Only in 1933 E. Brugane got an opportunity to work on opportunity to work in  an orchestra – The Symphonic Orchestra of Latvian Radio where she worked from 1933 to 1978. There she performed solo the famous musical masterpieces of  P. Chaikovsky, A. Glazunov and N. Rimsky-Korsakov and the music of Latvian composers.
