Tatyana Baryshnikova
Tatyana Baryshnikova (27th of July 1971, Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR) – Doctor of Philology (Dr. philol.), an associate professor of the department of Russian and Slavic languages of the University of Latvia.
She graduated from the faculty of Philology of the University of Latvia in 1993, and later worked as a teacher of the Russian language and literature, history of culture and philosophy. In 1999 she finished post-graduate studies at the Latvian Academy of Culture (specializing in the theory and history of culture). T. Baryshnikova has been working at the University of Latvia since 2002. Her field of research creative activities of M. Tsvetayeva, the inheritance of Russian culture in Latvia and the problems of teaching Russian as a foreign language in Latvia.
