Serafima Bogdanova

Serafima Bogdanova (1927, Saratov Governorate, Russian SFSR – 2008, Riga, Republic of Latvia) – Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Docent of the Department of Russian Literature, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Philology of the P. Stučka Latvian State University  (since 1990 – University of Latvia).

Serafima Bogdanova was born in Russia, in 1945 moved to Riga. She studied at the Department of the Russian language and literature of the philological faculty of the University of Latvia. From 1951 to 1959 S.Bogdanova taught the Russian language at the University of Latvia. She also was an excellent teacher at secondary schools. In 1980 S.Bogdanova defended a candidate thesis on the methodology of teaching Russian in national (Latvian) school and was the author of many text books, articles on the techniques of teaching Russian.
