Inna Bergman
Inna Bergman (25th of May 1936, Moscow, Russian SFSR – 22nd of April 2017, Republic of Latvia) – Doctor of Philology. For many years she had been working at the department of Russian philology of the University of Latvia.
Inna Bergman was born in Russia but in 1946 the family moved to Riga. She graduated from the faculty of philology of the Latvian State University, specializing in Russian language and literature. From 1961 to 1995 she had been working at the Latvian State University/the University of Latvia at the faculty of philology as a lecturer and as an assistant professor. In 1975 Bergman defended the thesis for the candidate's degree. She is the author of textbooks on Russian and Latvian literary connections and perceptions of Russian literature in Latvia. Since 2001 she had been holding the position of the executive director of the museum "Pushkin and the Baltics", which was established in Pushkin lyceum in Riga and had been the head of an organization "Krišjānis Barons Society".
