Flora Bessonova
Flora Bessonova (7th of May 1930, Almaty, Kazakh SSR – 14th of March 2014, Riga, Republic of Latvia) – a chartered lawyer.
Flora Bessonova was born in Kazakhstan, in Alma-Ata (now Almaty). After the end of the war, her family settled in Riga.
In 1948, Flora graduated from Riga Secondary School No. 15 and enrolled in the Faculty of Law at the Latvian State University (graduated in 1952).
From August 5, 1953, she worked as a trainee at the 4th Riga Legal Consultation Office, and from May 14, 1954, as an attorney at the same office. From October 11, 1954, she worked as an attorney in Liepāja. From June 1, 1957, she worked at the 7th Riga Legal Consultation Office, and from November 1, 1963, at the 8th Riga Legal Consultation Office.
On April 27, 1993, she took the oath of a solicitor. She was a sworn solicitor at the 8th Riga Law Office and, from 2006, practiced as an independent attorney in Riga.
On April 1, 2007, she retired.
In 1952, she married Valentin Bessonov (born 1930), an employee of the internal affairs system. They had a daughter, Olga (born 1954), and a son, Leonid (born 1960).
