Nikolay Alekseyev

Nikolay Alekseyev (3rd of August 1911, Riga, Russian Empire – 22nd of June 1962, Riga, Latvian SSR)  –  the director of VEF factory from 1958 to 1962.

Nikolay Alekseyev was born in Riga in the family of old believers. He graduated from the Mechanical faculty of the University of Latvia and worked as a researcher. In 1940-41 worked in the Mechanical department of VEF factory. N. Alekseyev was a participant of the World War II, served in 201st Latvian riflemen division. After the war, he resumed his work in VEF, where he was on executive positions.

From 1955 to 1959 he had been the director of Riga Popov Radio factory. In 1958 Alekseyev was appointed the director of VEF, where he demonstrated great leadership skills, knowledge of production and high integrity.
