Main workshop of the boot works

In 1888 the factory of the Russo-French Joint-stock company Provodnik was founded in Riga. Short boots and Wellington boots, linoleum, surgical equipment, underwater suits, toys etc. produced by the factory were widely known. It was one of the first factories in Europe to produce car tyres.
