Dmitry Bondarev

Dmitry Bondarev (1878–1937) – an auto designer.

Dmitry Bondarev received a diploma of an engineer-technologist in 1909 and was invited to work in Riga at Russo-Balt carriage works which specialized in manufacturing railway carriages and cars. Сar-manufacturing department of Russo-Balt occupied a great place in this industry in the Russian Empire.

D. Bondarev had been living in Riga for about 5 years. In 1915 Russo-Balt was evacuated from the city due to the German advance in the Baltic governorates. 

D. Bondarev held high-rank positions in the Supreme Board of Economy of Soviet Russia. He was a leading technician of the project of the establishment of the factory «Rostselmash».

In 1937 D. Bondarev was arrested and executed, however in 1957 he was rehabilitated.
