Church of the Lord's Transfiguration in Valgunde

The foundation of the church in honour of the Lord's Transfiguration was consecrated by the abbot of the Monstary of st. Alexius archimandrite Innokenty (Smirnov, 1867-1906) on 6th of August 1897. The plan and the estimate were compiled by the governorate architect V. Lunsky. In 1899 the newly constructed church was consecrated by the bishop of Riga and Mitava Agafangel.
